This capsule collection showcases 20 of the finest selvage denim fabrics from 12 of the world’s most respected denim mills, representing 6 countries with rich and storied denim histories. Here you’ll find specialty selvage denim from Japan, Turkey, the United States, and Thailand, all made with a deep love of the craft.

Selvage denim (also spelled “selvedge”) gets its name from the term “self-edge” in reference to its self-finished construction. The term "self-finished" means that the edge does not require additional finishing work, such as an overlock stitch or bias tape, to prevent fraying. Selvage denim is carefully woven on old-fashioned shuttle looms that use one long, continuous thread. Once the thread reaches one side from the other, it loops back, creating the selvage stripe on each side. The contrast thread on the stripe, known as the selvage ID, is a way mills would identify their product and method, a tradition that continues today.

For men, the collection features selvage denim jeans in a selection of AG signature fits. The Dylan, our slim skinny jean for men, comes in the finest selvage denim fabrics in a variety of weights and washes. The style is offered in mid-weight stretch selvage denim, mid-weight rigid selvage denim, and heavyweight rigid selvage denim that’s crafted from 100% cotton. The Tellis, our modern slim jean for men, showcases a range of different fabrics, designed in lightweight rigid selvage denim as well as mid-weight and heavyweight selvage denim. For fans of vintage style, there’s the Pollock, our vintage slim fit jean for men, featuring a button fly and a dark red-cast indigo shade. These men’s jeans will break in beautifully. Rope-dyed in authentic indigo, the denim of this collection lets you find your perfect wash. Choose a medium indigo wash or a dark indigo wash with a red cast or green cast. There’s also the option to switch things up with a sulfur black cast selvage.
