Off The Cuff: BTS of Earth Day '25

Photo Art Director Isaac Sterling takes us behind the lens of AG's Earth Day '25 Capsule Collection, capturing every moment of textile artist Maegan Neubeck in her studio.

Photo Art Director Isaac Sterling takes us behind the scenes in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York as he captures textile artist and AG collaborator Maegan Neubeck in her studio. Get an inside look through Isaac’s lens as he captures her working on pieces for our Earth Day ’25 Capsule Collection.

The morning began quite early for me - 7 a.m. to be exact. I woke up, had a quick shower, pulled the freshly charged batteries off their chargers, and loaded them into the case (can’t forget those!). By 7:45 a.m., I had my first cup of coffee in hand and was out the door to pick up the rental car and camera equipment we needed for the shoot.

By 9:30 a.m., I met up with our Creative Director, Charles, and we hit the road, heading to the Catskill Mountains, NY to meet with Maegan Neubeck.

Around 11 a.m., we made a pit stop at Charles’ favorite biker bar, The Market, for a late breakfast. We were the only ones not wearing spandex, but no complaints here! A second cup of coffee was much deserved after that early start.

We rolled in around 1 p.m. - coffee number three was very much needed. We headed to Maegan’s studio, where her warm welcome was a delightful sight on such a blustering cold day, and began to unload the gear and prepare for a photo day. By 3:30 pm, we had shot Maegan showing her space, and the process of how she’s making our Earth Day capsule collection tees. Before we knew it, it was 3:45 p.m. and we were packing up and racing back to New York to return the camera gear and rental car so we wouldn’t incur any extra charges.

We made it back to Manhattan by 7 p.m., returning the gear just under the wire. With an extra hour before the car was due, we took our time heading to the rental drop-off - ending the day with a good laugh at whoever decided to crown a Cybertruck with cones. After dropping everything off, we hopped on the subway to Brooklyn, where we saw a dog riding on a man’s shoulders (only in New York, lol). We grabbed a late dinner around 9:30 p.m. at Tong, and I decided to treat myself by upgrading caffeine cup number four to an espresso cocktail - felt fancy.

At 11 p.m., I officially called it a night by writing my initials into wet cement. No one can deny I was here.

Until next time!
