A perfect pairing of masterful, Italian craftsmanship—the AG x Dom Vetro Collection presents a sophisticated take on tradition. Using authentic C.A.D and sanding machines riddled with Italian labels, and the invaluable, meticulous craftsmanship learned from his time in the Italian Alps, we were able to design eyewear that was crafted with care while using materials and processes that are far more sustainable than that of common practice.
For AG x Dom Vetro, this collection is a progression in designing eyewear that preserves style given their heirloom quality and eco-conscious properties like biodegradable, plant-based Italian acetate. Dom Vetro sources mineral glass lenses, a recyclable lens that offers superior optical clarity and much smaller carbon footprint than plastic. The blend of lens colors and acetates are subtle but refined, striking a nice balance between modernity and classic Italian style.
The collection begins with The Archer, an aviator-style frame designed with a flat top bar. The oversized silhouette offers a monochromatic, green color story—offering a lens that is fashioned from CR39. CR39 is highly known for its optical clarity, being durable like glass but offering less of the weight. The Getty, a women’s cat eye sunglass, is also designed using CR39. This classic style is luxuriously refined and lightweight, complete with a champagne-colored frame.
A unique attribute for Dom Vetro is their use of biodegradable, plant-based Italian acetate. The first of these three styles is The Arthur, a timeless pair designed in a jet black, complete with a distinct and refined square shape and polarized mineral glass lens. The F36 & Clip is a contemporary, dual sun-lens aviator with a minimal flat bridge design, also available in a sleek jet black. The Primo, designed in a gorgeous dark tortoise, is classic, unisex eyewear that boasts five-barrel hinges, creating a meaningful difference in the quality of an already luxurious frame.
With the exception of our eyewear featuring the CR39 lens, each style will include a polarized mineral glass lens that offers a much smaller carbon footprint than plastic and unbeatable optical clarity. The Capretta sports the classic 1960s Italian eyewear design in a stunning champagne hue, while The M01 immortalizes it with its refined, unisex shape and beautiful quartz frame. The last of this collection is The Rafael, a contemporary aviator with a dual brow bar and a daring, true vintage tortoise hue.
Each pair of sunglasses in this collection is a product of true craftsmanship, inspired by the centuries-old art of making impeccable Italian eyewear. Made in Los Angeles.
